CITIZENS BUILD A SOCIETY

Citizens Build a Society – to Make Higher Education Accessible

From the beginning of the state of emergency in 2021 until the beginning of the current state of emergency, which began on October 7, the “Citizens Build a Society” team saw the importance of expanding the organization’s services to serve a larger number of students, especially in Ramle and Jaffa. In recent years, many young men and women from these areas have faced legal issues, hearings, and disciplinary committees at universities or have been expelled from their workplaces because of expressing their opinions or their political activism. The goal of the project is to turn the fate of as many young people and students from the Lod, Ramle, and Jaffa areas as possible from being persecuted because of their opinions to people who are pursuing their future and possible opportunities, especially in the current state of emergency.

“We weren’t just looking for a donor to support and fund our work. We were looking for a donor from one of the three cities in which we operate who knows and feels the needs of the target audience to provide a local source of support for these young people, not just as a financial supporter.”

More than 200 beneficiary families, including those affected by the current state of emergency who received psychological support from social work and psychology experts, as well as students from the relevant fields.

100 students received scholarships to support their education, provide them with opportunities to enter the labor market with higher degrees and empower young men and women in Lod, Jaffa, and Ramle.

More than 1,000 students received the Center’s various psychological, financial, and occupational support services in Lod, Jaffa, and Ramle.

With the support we received during this emergency, the organization’s services were expanded to include not only Lod but also Ramle and Jaffa. The association will continue to provide its services and support students and will raise additional funds to continue the project.

We reached as many students as possible to help them maintain their academic education, develop life skills for entering the labor market, and prevent exposure to punishment and law violations.
