“The situation of many in the Arab society has worsened due to the current circumstances, and many need urgent and effective support. Among those affected are patients with digestive system and liver diseases and people with food allergies, who suffer from the negative effects of the current situation.”

As part of this project, Nissan aims to provide support and assistance to members of the Arab society who suffer from food allergies and digestive problems, especially those affected by the war who need appropriate and special support to cope with the health and social challenges from which they suffer.

Axes of operation:

1.     Providing emotional and psychological support to 24 patients whose condition has worsened as a result of the war.

2.     Organizing support groups for patients and children with food allergies and digestive problems and supporting their parents.

3.     Providing financial assistance to cover the costs of biological medication and assistance in providing suitable
food to patients.

4.     Cooking workshops in response to the nutritional needs of patients.

5.     Lectures to raise awareness in schools about diseases of the digestive system and liver.

6.     Launching a website that provides information about the organization’s services and educational materials on
diseases and medical rights.

7.     A theatric show about diseases of the digestive system to raise awareness and break down the barriers of fear and shyness.

 The ORT school network provided an additional donation of NIS 25,000 to raise students’ awareness of food allergies and liver problems. 

Impact:

1.     Dedicated and suitable support for 24 patients from Arab society suffering from diseases of the digestive system and liver.

2.     Provision of medical services and nutrition.

3.     Financial assistance for the purchase of biological medication for­­­ ­24 patients.

4.     Psychological and emotional support for patients and their families.

5.     Food assistance for patients and their families.
